Washi Tape + Scenic Sayings = instant cards

For this week's Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlight, I used 2 of brand new goodies from 2016-207 catalogue.

I really like the colour combination of Playful Palette Desinger Washi Tape so I just used all of them in the same order as packaged.

For the sentiment I used Scenic Sayings stamp set. I got this set as my prize patrol at On Stage Local 2016. These stamps are really good size. They fill up the card front.

Especially if the card size is note card one.

It was going to be a really quick and easy card until I decided to use Gold Metallic Thread behind the sentiment. It took me almost half an hour to put the thread on where I wanted and made it stay there until I attached it down. The thread didn't behave very well.

So if you don't need to use the thread, this card takes only 5 minutes to make.

Once I figured out how to put the thread onto the card, I wanted to make another card, using the same materials.  Stamped a heart with Flirty Flamingo ink and punched out with Sweet Heart Punch.

Inkpads: Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.

Cute gift box with Envelope Punch Board

We had a little get together last weekend at our place. I made little "Thanks for coming" presents for guests, using Envelope Punch Board.

I think I have made more boxes than envelopes with Envelope Punch Board. It's just so easy to make boxes and fun. I usually use a circle punch to make a handle for the box but this time I used Curvy Corner Trio Punch. I wonder why I never thought to use the corner punch for the handle !! Really cute!!

Perfect size for 2 Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

Made a tag with Sweetheart Punch and Groovy Love stamp set. "Thank you" and a little heart are from Endless Thanks set.

Made a Welcome signage with ScanCut and stamp big heart from Blooming Love set to make it match with DSP.

Aren't they adorable?

Heart aren't only for Valentine's Day. It shows your love and care to others.  These boxes and DSP can be used all year around.

Easy embellishment with Washi Tape

I like Washi Tape so much but I can't use it too much because it's so precious.

I still have some  rolls of Christmas Washi Tape from a few years ago. It's time to use them up ! Washi Tape can be used to make a quick and easy focal point.

You know " Washi " is Japanese, meaning "Japanese paper".  The interesting thing is that we don't call it Washi Tape in Japan.  We call it " Masking Tape or "Masu-te" as an abbreviation for masking tape.

This is how I created this focal point.

First trace the die cut  shape on the base card with pencil.

Then cover the perimeter with Washi Tape.

Using co-ordinated Washi Tape together, you can create perfectly colour coordinated pattern without thinking too much.  You can use DSP for this design as well but being able to stick on the card without a hassle of gluing is much easier.

I made a frame with die cut glimmer paper.  The sentiment is white heat embossed.I used Bitty Banners Framelits and cut off one side of the banner.

Of course I had to coordinate inside. Love little star stamp. So cuuuuuuuuuute!

You can use punches instead of die cutting.

Valentine mini card using Christmas Washi Tape.  Happy Valentine's Day,everyone !

Masculine cards made easy, with Going Global stamp set & Going Places DSP

Many card makers find making masculine cards difficult. I am one of them. Well I WAS.

I have been enjoying making masculine cards with Going Global stamp set and Going Places DSP. As long as you use the stamp set and the DSP, no matter what the design is, it becomes a GUY CARD ! How easy is that !

The compass image is gold heat embossed.

What a sweet sentiment !

Our wedding anniversary is approaching and this card perfect for the occasion with Number of Years stamp set.

It's definitely good for Valentine's Day card, too.

Cute mini tote bag with fry box die

I have made a lot of fry boxes using fry box dies. But that's not all. You can make a mini tote bag with the die.

Here is how. Fold the card stock  in half. Place the cardstock, folded side down on the die.

Place the card stock  one the die at the position where you see the half of the rest of the die. (Hope that make sense to you.)

And cut out ! Put it together as usual. It looks like the regular fry box but it is shorter and both sides are same length. I punched the holes to attached the ribbon as a handle.

The ribbon is glued with glue dots. I used the 1 inc circle punch to hide the ugly bit inside the ribbon handle.

You need die cut machine to create this cute mini tote bag. If you haven't tried die cutting yet, just contact me. I will show you what die-cut is and how you can have fun with it.

Here's the deal: for every $90 AUD you spend (before shipping and handling), you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration product. That means it's the perfect time to purchase those products you've had your eye on while earning more products for free. Contact me how !

born to be loved

When it comes to Valentine's Day card, you think automatically ' Pink ', ' Red ' or ' Heart '.
However, if the receiver is a guy, bright pink with a big read heart, screaming Valentine's Day ! card maybe a bit too much ?! Especially if the guy is your teenage son. I know my 19 year old nephew would not appreciate that sort of card from me.

Here is the Valentine's Day card for a guy. Black and White with little bit of muted colours.

I used the Banner Punch to create the fish tail on both sides.

Of course there are hearts here and there but not screaming. I love the zebra pattern heart stamp.
It's really cool. Wood heart is from Love Blossoms Embellishment kit.

I like how the outline heart peaks out.

With Silver Baker's Twine, even a bow doesn't look girlie.

This could be a birthday card for someone special.

Would you like to know how to make this card ? Just contact me and I show you how easy it is.
