Crazy Crafters Team Project Highlight 1st April-Tri-fold card

I've learnt a lot about card making through You Tube, well I could say almost everything. I've made tri-fold cards before but when I watched The Frugal Crafter Lindsay Weirich's tutorial, I got an idea for new measurements for the card.  And that has made this type of cards so easy and fun to create!

The card size is a regular A5. It's 21cm so if you score at 7 cm and 14 cm, you can make a tri-fold card base.

Then align the card as horizontal is shorter on the paper trimmer at 3.5 cm and cut between 3.5 cm and 17.5 cm vertically.

Turn the card so horizontal is longer now. Align at 3.5 cm and score to 3.5 cm. It means scoring down from the top to where horizontal cut stars. Do the same at the bottom and the other side. Don't core in the middle panel. You only score where the horizontal cut starts and ends.

Now all you need to do is fold and decorate and have fun.

To decorate the card with DSP, you need to cut the paper to the following sizes.
                               2 pieces of  3 cm x 14.3 cm
                               4 pieces of  3 cm x  3 cm
                               2 pieces of  3 cm x 6.5 cm
                               3 pieces of  6.5cm x 7 cm (7 cm is vertical side.)

I put a flower made with Festive Flower Builder Punch at the front panel. That's big enough so I don't need to embellish this card any more.

Sentiments are from Garden in Bloom.

This set coordinates beautifully with English Garden Designer Series Paper, which used to decorate this card.

If you haven't tried a tri-fold card yet, please give it a go. It's much easier than you think and takes no time if you use DSP and Festive Flower Builder Punch to embellish it.

Here's another tri-fold card I made. For this card I used Soft Suede as a base. I didn't put anything on the middle panel. When I need a birthday card, I can put "Happy Birthday" there or even make it Mother's Day card.
