Today we have a special Blog Highlight. It's open up world wide! The theme is Love.
I used Mojo Monday #442 sketch. I've been enjoying using sketches a lot lately. This sketch inspired me to use one of the Project Life stamp sets, Memories in Making.
This set challenged me a lot. First of all, I don't use Project Life Stamps for cards very often though I'd like the idea of it. Secondly, the one of the colours used in this set is Tempting Turquoise.
Well, I have only used Tempting Turquoise once or twice in my card making history but then other colours are Watermelon Wonder (my go to red ), Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky and Pink Pirouette. I thought I can cope with Tempting Turquoise with some help from these colours.
I chose a 4 x 3 card from the collection and that gave me a starting point.
I made a background using a big scribbled circle image from Memories in the Making set and a spatter image from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.
For the skinny long flag, I attached Washi on Whisper White card stock and cut it.
Then used Banner Punch.
Cut 4 x4 card into half.
Love these wood hearts. You can use outline as well, meaning you have 6 hearts in one pack.
When I stamped the sentiment, I smudged it ! But this design has distressing feel so it actually looks nicer than clean and crisp image. That's my excuse for not re-doing it.
I would never choose these colours myself. It's way out of my comfort zone but I really like this card. Sending my love to someone who's under the weather.
